PVcase’s State of Solar Project Development report featured in PV Tech

PV Tech covered the findings of PVcase’s second annual State of Solar Project Development report. The report is based on a survey of 405 solar professionals across Germany, Italy, Spain and the US. The article highlights key findings including:

• Growing pipelines: 91% of respondents saw their project pipeline grow over the past year, up from 84% in 2025

• Rising project attrition: the share of projects abandoned before completion increased from 32% to 46%

• Finance as the top barrier: 74% named project finance as a cause of project failure
  Storage becoming standard: 82% said battery storage makes up at least 10% of their pipeline

Together, these findings point to what the report calls “the optimism paradox”: more developers expect growth, but fewer expect it to be dramatic. Meanwhile, more of the projects they start never reach operation.
